Sizzle Mongolian BBQ is a sit-down restaurant specializing in Mongolian barbecue, located along the bustling stretch of Sunset Boulevard in Rocklin. This spot moves away from the all-you-can-eat model common to many Mongolian BBQ places, instead offering a more curated, single-bowl experience that comes with sides like rice, an egg roll, soup, and crispy wontons. Expect to pay around $20 per meal, which makes it a bit of a pricier option compared to other quick Asian eats in the area.

The restaurant maintains a clean and straightforward atmosphere, giving off a no-fuss, casual-dining vibe. It’s a practical choice for those who want a quick, yet thoughtfully prepared meal without the rush or chaos of a buffet line. The service consistently comes across as upbeat and attentive, which makes the ordering process smooth even for first-timers navigating the build-your-own bowl concept.

In terms of food, the strength lies in fresh ingredients and a wide selection of vegetables, meats like chicken, pork, and beef, and noodles including both lo mein and udon. The sauces, offered in several varieties, are displayed with recipes, so you can customize your bowl with confidence. Unlike some places, Sizzle Mongolian BBQ stays away from overly sweet sauces and smaller, often tougher cuts of meat; here, protein comes sliced in manageable medallions that cook evenly on the spot.

This place will appeal most to those craving a customizable, flavor-forward meal that balances vegetables and proteins in a single bowl. It’s well-suited for a weekday lunch or an early dinner, particularly for locals who want something fresh and fast but with a bit more control over their portion and flavor profile than traditional buffets offer. If you’re sensitive to spice, the staff are receptive to adjusting heat levels, making it welcoming for those who want to avoid overwhelming flavors.

First time at Mongolian BBQ and it was delicious! I loved the selection of toppings! It was $19.95 for an adult without a drink but it came with rice, egg roll, soup and crispy wonton. It was not AYCE. I definitely recommend this place!

Nice clean restaurant, judging by reviews probably the best Mongolian in the area. I'm not sure there's alot of Mongolian in Rocklin area. It's a nice clean restaurant staff is friendly. It's pretty expensive as far as Mongolian goes $20 for one bowl. The meat is all cut in small medallions about the size of a half dollar. No lamb, no sugar water for sauce. Food was all fresh and staff was more attentive than other Mongolian bbq restaurants I've attended.

Very good and very clean. The only thing I would ding them on is not having an all you can eat option. Surely there is some price at which that is worth their while and I'd probably be happy to pay it. I generally like to have a couple of less filled bowls with some variants and not have to pack the meat down. That said it's not like one bowl with soup and spring rolls isn't enough, but then I have to pack the meat down and it's impossible to get enough spinach. They were short staffed when we were there today and the owner (very nice guy) told us we could get a second bowl, so I almost feel bad mentioning it :)

First time experience and it did not disappoint. The service was fast and friendly. There was alot of option's to choose from for meats they had chicken and pork and beef. They have 2 types of noodles. They had a large variety of veggies and the sauces more than 6 to choose from with recipes as well. Great experience will have to come back.

This place is great. The service here is phenomenal, the staff are super nice, and are super high energy. The food here is amazing, it was all high quality, and tasted great. If you can’t handle super spicy food, then tell them that. I would recommend this place to anyone.
